Instantly Copilot vs AiSDR: Which One Is Better? - Zian AI

Instantly Copilot vs AiSDR: Which One Is Better?

Quick answer: Instantly’s AI Copilot is an assistant, its own actions credit-free, inside a cold-email platform you run yourself; sending and lead data bill separately, about $144–$174 a month for 1,000 prospects before mailboxes (as at 6 October 2026). AiSDR is an AI SDR subscription with AiSDR-built mailboxes at $1,000–$1,250 per 1,000 contacts on monthly prices; done-for-you campaigns and full management are paid add-ons. Pick Instantly if someone will own the campaigns; AiSDR if you want the product to do more of the deciding.

“Which is better: Instantly Copilot vs AiSDR” is a question about two things that are not the same kind of product. Instantly sells a cold-email sending platform (Outreach plans, unlimited email accounts and warmup, a 450M+ B2B lead database called SuperSearch) with an assistant on top (AI Copilot, with Copilot Memory and Copilot Tasks) and a set of separately metered agents (AI Sales Agent, AI Reply Agent, AI Voice Agent). AiSDR sells one subscription in which its AI and its strategist Ami AI (with dedicated GTM engineer onboarding on Explore and Scale) research contacts, write and send email and LinkedIn messages from mailboxes AiSDR sets up, handle replies, and hand calls to your rep through Aircall. AiSDR’s integration list is Gmail, Outlook, HubSpot, Salesforce, Aircall and Calendly; Instantly’s Automation Builder, which its help centre says “is available to all Email Outreach/Outbound plans”, lists triggers from 32 other apps, among them HubSpot, HighLevel, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Calendly, Aircall and the LinkedIn tools Aimfox, HeyReach and Expandi. Every vendor fact below was read on the vendor’s own pages on 6 October 2026, and both price lists show a bare “$” sign.

What Instantly Copilot actually is, and what it is not

Instantly’s help centre article on Copilot, dated August 7, 2026, defines it as “Instantly’s built-in AI assistant designed specifically for cold email and outbound workflows.” Its documented jobs are to find your ideal target audience and leads, generate complete outreach campaigns, write full email sequences, suggest campaign ideas, summarise weekly analytics, give advice and run daily, weekly or monthly recurring tasks; a separate help article adds that Copilot can build Automation Builder workflows from a typed description. It reads context from your website, PDFs, ideal customer profiles and the “Guidance” rules you write for tone and structure.

The boundary matters for this comparison. The same article’s step 6 says Copilot “will generate email copy, follow-ups, or lead lists” and “You can edit the emails and move them into your campaign.” The sending happens in an Instantly campaign on an Outreach plan, which Instantly’s pricing FAQ says, once set up, “runs completely on autopilot.” Instantly’s homepage goes further for Copilot itself: a WARP mode that will “find leads, emails, write copy and generate campaigns from start to finish automatically.” So Copilot can build the whole campaign; it is still a front end to the platform rather than a separate seat that owns your pipeline.

The work Copilot does not price is where the money goes. Instantly’s help centre says Copilot UI actions (write a sequence, create a campaign, get analytics, run a workspace audit, get advice, request general info) “no longer consume Instantly Credits”, while “lead enrichment triggered through Copilot (like verifying emails or generating leads) still requires credits.” Instantly’s own llms.txt file still lists 0.1 credits per sequence; the dated help article is the newer of the two, so we use it.

The quotable line: Instantly Copilot is the steering wheel, not the engine; the engine is an Outreach plan plus a credits plan, and both bill whether or not you open Copilot.

What AiSDR actually is

AiSDR’s llms.txt describes it as an AI SDR that “finds in-market B2B buyers using real intent signals” and executes “across email, LinkedIn (messages, connection requests, InMails), calls (via Aircall), and multimedia (AI video, voice notes, memes)”. Its pricing page lists three plans: Solo at “$250 /mo” with “200 AI-researched contacts/month”, 1 user, 1 domain, 3 mailboxes and 1 LinkedIn account; Explore at “$900 /mo” with 800 contacts, 2 domains, 6 mailboxes and 5 LinkedIn accounts; and Scale at “$2,500 /mo” with 2,500 contacts, 6 domains, 18 mailboxes and 20 LinkedIn accounts. The terms read: “All plans are billed monthly. Explore and Scale have quarterly contracts. Cancel anytime.” Annual prices are $2,400, $8,640 and $24,000 a year.

AiSDR’s knowledge base explains the unit. An AI-researched contact takes “about 3 lead search credits per contact”, and “your message allowance is roughly four times your contact allowance”, so Explore is about 3,200 messages a month and Scale about 10,000. Extra contacts cost “$1.50 per contact” as an add-on.

AiSDR frames the difference itself. Its pricing FAQ, answering “How is AiSDR different from Salesloft/Outreach/Instantly?”, says: “Those tools help you send messages. AiSDR helps you decide what to send and who to send it to”. That framing undersells Instantly Copilot, whose documented job includes finding your audience and writing the campaign. The fair version is narrower: with Instantly, a person on your team decides and Copilot drafts; with AiSDR, the product and its GTM engineer decide inside limits you set.

Who does each step: research, writing, sending, replies, meetings, calls

This is the table to take into a demo. Instantly is split into Copilot alone and Copilot plus Instantly’s separately metered agents, because that is how Instantly sells it.

Step Instantly Copilot alone Instantly with its agents AiSDR
Find and research leads “Find your ideal target audience & leads”; enrichment costs credits (about 1.5 credits per verified work email) AI Sales Agent “Finds qualified leads that match your Ideal Customer Profile”, 5 credits per lead Included: 200 / 800 / 2,500 AI-researched contacts a month; “Native database of 300M+ leads”, Sales Navigator data, LinkedIn signals from Explore
Write the messages Writes full sequences and campaigns; you edit and move them into a campaign AI Sales Agent “Writes personalized cold emails for each prospect” “AiSDR personalizes each message individually per lead at send time”
Send Not Copilot itself: an Instantly campaign on an Outreach plan sends AI Sales Agent sends from the accounts you select; default cap 10 emails a day, maximum 10,000 Email from AiSDR-built mailboxes, plus LinkedIn connection requests, DMs and InMail
Handle replies Not in Copilot’s documented task list AI Reply Agent, 5 credits per reply generated; HITL mode or Autopilot (Autopilot only on Hyper Growth or above) Manual reply (the Inbox offers an AI-suggested reply you can edit or send as is), or AI Smart Replies on per campaign
Book the meeting Not in Copilot’s documented task list AI Reply Agent with Calendly can “autonomously book meetings when prospects confirm availability” Smart Replies “send a link to schedule a call”; Calendly and HubSpot calendar integration
Phone calls Not in Copilot’s documented task list CRM calls and SMS dialled by a person; AI Voice Agent “Handles inbound or outbound phone calls” Aircall call steps: your rep dials, AiSDR supplies script and insights; Aircall Essentials “$40/user/month, 3-seat minimum”

Read the bottom row twice. Instantly’s AI Voice Agent help article describes a phone agent that “Handles inbound or outbound phone calls”, with US numbers sold by Instantly or connected through Twilio or a SIP trunk, and an AI disclosure appended to every first message that “cannot be edited or removed”. We did not find a price for it on Instantly’s pricing page, pricing.md, plans overview or credit-system article, as at 6 October 2026. AiSDR’s calls are made by a human: its Aircall article says you click the phone number icon and “You’ll be redirected to Aircall”. If live voice is the deciding channel, our breakdown of how AiSDR’s Aircall call steps work against a voice agent goes deeper than this page.

Human-in-the-loop controls: who can stop a message before it goes

The control question splits cleanly by product, and it is often the real reason a team prefers one or the other.

  • Instantly Copilot: a person is in the loop by design. Copilot drafts; you edit and move the copy into a campaign.
  • Instantly AI Sales Agent: two settings. “Non-Autopilot (manual review): Requires manual approval via Live Feed before finding more leads or sending any emails.” On first start it recommends 10 leads for approval, and “No approval = no credits spent.” Autopilot approves activities automatically.
  • Instantly AI Reply Agent: Human-In-The-Loop mode means “You approve replies before they’re sent”; Autopilot mode is “only available for Hyper Growth or above Email Outreach plans”, and even then it “pauses and requests review” when product information is missing or the context is unclear. Each generated reply costs 5 credits “regardless of whether you send, edit, or use the suggested reply.”
  • AiSDR outgoing messages: you approve samples, not each send. Its knowledge base says the Preview Sequence shows sample emails and LinkedIn messages, “Live emails will be similar but not identical”, and “No manual approval is needed for each outgoing message”.
  • AiSDR replies: its knowledge base answers “Can AI-generated replies be reviewed before they are sent?” with “At this stage, no”. Its pricing page, however, now lists “Replies in 5-10 min or co-pilot mode” among the features every plan includes. The same knowledge-base article also describes replying from the Inbox, where you can “review the AI-suggested reply” and edit it, rewrite it or send it as is; AI Smart Replies themselves still send without a review step. Ask AiSDR what “co-pilot mode” covers and get the answer in writing.

The quotable line: on Instantly’s agents you can hold each lead’s sequence email and every reply before it sends; on AiSDR, per its own knowledge base, you approve samples before launch and the sends then run without you.

Deliverability: who owns the mailboxes

This is the least discussed difference and the one that decides how much work you take on.

Instantly treats mailboxes as yours. Every Outreach plan includes “Unlimited Email Accounts” and “Unlimited Email Warmup”; you bring accounts or buy them from Instantly at $15 a year per domain, $5 a month per done-for-you Google account, $10 a month per pre-warmed Google account or $4 a month per Airmail account. The $358 Light Speed plan adds SISR, which “automatically assigns dedicated/private server and IP blocks”. The AI Sales Agent ships with open tracking disabled, ESP matching on and a text-based opt-out line appended by default. Inbox placement testing is a separate $47–$97 a month product.

AiSDR treats mailboxes as its job. Its knowledge base says that “for every 1,000 messages sent monthly, we set up 6 mailboxes (on 2 separate domains, so 3 mailboxes per domain)”, that domain and mailbox choices “cannot be changed” once setup begins, and that warmup runs through a network of “friendly” addresses. You can bring your own Microsoft 365 or Gmail mailboxes, but AiSDR says “we cannot take responsibility for deliverability results when mailboxes are managed on your end.” Its llms.txt states that “AiSDR does not track open rates by design”. Extra sending capacity is $33 a month for a virtual domain with three mailboxes or $99 a month for a Google Workspace domain.

The quotable line: with Instantly, deliverability is your skill on their infrastructure; with AiSDR, it is their responsibility on mailboxes you are asked not to touch.

Apply For Partnership if your outbound needs phone, SMS, email and WhatsApp agents run as one system rather than an email sequence with calls alongside.

What 1,000 prospects a month costs on each, worked end to end

This is the calculation buyers ask for and neither vendor prints. The inputs: 1,000 new prospects a month, each sent a four-message email sequence (4,000 emails), with a verified work email for each. Prices are each vendor’s own list prices as at 6 October 2026, monthly billing, at instantly.ai/pricing and aisdr.com/pricing. Instantly’s llms.txt says “All prices in USD”; AiSDR states no currency, so confirm it before you budget.

Three Instantly facts change the arithmetic. First, the uploaded-contact limit “is a fixed limit across all campaigns, not per month”, so Growth’s 1,000-contact cap covers one month’s cohort and no more; ongoing volume needs Hypergrowth (25,000 contacts) unless you delete old leads. Second, a verified work email costs 1 credit when Instantly finds it and 2 when a data partner does, about 1.5 on average. Third, the AI Sales Agent costs “5 Instantly Credits per lead”.

Configuration (as at 6 October 2026) Monthly subscriptions What covers 1,000 prospects Per 1,000 prospects, plus 6 mailboxes on 2 domains
Instantly Copilot route: Hypergrowth Outreach ($97) + Growth credits $144 (1,500 credits) to $174 (Growth credits 2, 2,000 credits) 1,000 verified emails at 1 to 2 credits each; Copilot UI actions free $176.50 to $206.50
Instantly first month only: Starter bundle (Growth $47 + Growth credits $47) $94 1,000 uploaded contacts (fixed cap), 5,000 emails, 1,500 credits; Unibox is preview-only on Growth, so in-app replies need Hypergrowth $126.50, one cohort only
Instantly agent route: Scale bundle (Hypergrowth $97 + Supersonic $97) $194 1,000 AI Sales Agent leads at 5 credits = 5,000 credits $226.50
Instantly agent route with reply headroom: Hypergrowth $97 + Supersonic credits 2 ($147) $244 5,000 credits for leads + 2,500 for 500 AI-generated replies $276.50
AiSDR Solo $250 200 contacts; 1,000 would need five months or a bigger plan $1,250 (mailboxes included)
AiSDR Explore (quarterly contract) $900 800 contacts, about 3,200 messages $1,125 (mailboxes included)
AiSDR Scale (quarterly contract) $2,500 2,500 contacts, about 10,000 messages $1,000 (mailboxes included)
AiSDR Scale, annual $24,000 a year = $2,000 a month 2,500 contacts a month $800 (mailboxes included)

How the cells were built. The mailbox column adds six done-for-you Google accounts at $5 ($30) and two domains at $15 a year ($2.50 a month) to the Instantly rows, $32.50 in all, to mirror the 2 domains and 6 mailboxes on AiSDR’s Explore card. If you follow AiSDR’s own knowledge-base rule of 6 mailboxes per 1,000 monthly messages instead, 4,000 emails needs 24 mailboxes on 8 domains, $130 a month, and each Instantly row rises by $97.50. AiSDR’s per-1,000 figures are each plan’s price divided by its contact allowance, so they assume you use the full allowance. Instantly’s Hypergrowth email allowance is shown as 125,000 on its monthly card, pricing.md and plans overview, and 100,000 on the annual card and feature table; either covers 4,000.

What the Instantly rows leave out: LinkedIn steps (Instantly lists “LinkedIn connections” in its separate CRM, $47–$97 a month, and its Automation Builder can send a LinkedIn message through a third-party tool such as Aimfox, which needs your own account with that vendor), and above all the hours of whoever drives Copilot. Instantly does sell done-for-you setup and management with a dedicated GTM engineer, but as a separate VIP Service at custom pricing, so it has no row here. What the AiSDR rows leave out: Aircall seats for call steps, done-for-you campaigns built by AiSDR’s GTM team ($149 per campaign), the fully managed service on Scale (+$2,500 a month), and anything beyond the plan’s contact allowance. For why per-contact, per-message and per-credit prices never convert cleanly across the wider field, see our guide to the four AI SDR pricing units.

The hours-budget test: the one number that settles Instantly Copilot vs AiSDR

The subscription gap is large, and it is not the decision. The decision is whether the gap buys more of your team’s time than running Instantly would take. We call it the hours-budget test:

Hours budget = (AiSDR per 1,000 prospects − Instantly per 1,000 prospects) ÷ your loaded hourly cost. If running the Instantly route for 1,000 prospects a month (prompting Copilot, approving leads and copy, triaging replies, buying and watching mailboxes) takes more hours than that, AiSDR is the cheaper choice. If it takes fewer, Instantly is.

Worked with the table above and an illustrative $50 an hour (substitute your own): AiSDR Explore at $1,125 minus the Instantly Copilot route at $176.50 is $948.50, or 18.97 hours a month. The full span across the table runs from Scale at $1,000 against the dearest Copilot route at $206.50 ($793.50, 15.87 hours) to Solo at $1,250 against the cheapest at $176.50 ($1,073.50, 21.47 hours). At $50 an hour, then, the Copilot route wins if one person can run 1,000 prospects a month in roughly 16 to 21 hours. Neither vendor publishes how many hours its product takes to operate, so measure your own first fortnight before you commit to a quarter.

Meetings change the picture only if the rates differ. AiSDR’s pricing FAQ says: “So on average, you can expect 1-3 meetings for each 100 contacts”, and calls these “directional benchmarks”. At Explore’s $1,125 per 1,000 that is $37.50 to $112.50 per meeting. The Instantly Copilot route at $176.50 matches $112.50 a meeting at 1.57 meetings per 1,000 prospects, and $37.50 at 4.71. We found no absolute meetings-per-prospect figure on the Instantly pages we read, so treat that as the bar your own campaigns have to clear, not a forecast.

Instantly Copilot is the wrong choice if…

  • Nobody on your team will own outbound. Copilot drafts quickly, but the hours-budget test assumes someone spends those hours. Instantly’s own done-for-you option is its separate, custom-priced VIP Service, not Copilot.
  • You want LinkedIn messages and InMail in the same automated sequence as email without adding another vendor. Instantly reaches LinkedIn through its CRM or third-party tools such as Aimfox; AiSDR includes LinkedIn accounts on every tier.
  • You want one predictable bill. Instantly is at least two subscriptions (Outreach and credits), plus mailboxes, plus credits that “expire 2 months after purchase on monthly plans” if unused.

AiSDR is the wrong choice if…

  • You need to approve each outgoing email. AiSDR’s knowledge base says “No manual approval is needed for each outgoing message”.
  • You want to send from mailboxes you already own and keep AiSDR responsible for the results. Its knowledge base disclaims deliverability on self-managed mailboxes.
  • Your volume is high and your copy already works. At $1,000–$1,250 per 1,000 contacts on monthly prices, you pay for research and management you may not need.
  • You want an AI to hold the phone call. AiSDR’s call steps put your rep on Aircall.

Both are email-first products. Zian AI builds autonomous sales agents that run live phone, SMS, email and WhatsApp outreach in 30+ languages, with SmartReach AI orchestrating channel, timing and follow-up pacing and PrecisionPitch AI split-testing scripts against real success outcomes. Zian has run outbound acquisition since 2017. It publishes no prices and is in partnership-application beta, so it does not fit a buyer who needs to sign up today.

FAQ

Which is better: Instantly Copilot or AiSDR?

It depends on who will run outbound. Instantly Copilot suits a team with an owner for campaigns: as at 6 October 2026 the Copilot route costs about $144–$174 a month in subscriptions for 1,000 prospects before mailboxes. AiSDR suits a team without one: $1,000–$1,250 per 1,000 contacts on monthly prices, with mailboxes and LinkedIn accounts included, dedicated GTM engineer onboarding on Explore and Scale, and done-for-you campaigns or full management extra.

Is Instantly Copilot an AI SDR?

Not on its own. Instantly calls Copilot a “built-in AI assistant” that finds leads, writes sequences, generates campaigns and runs recurring tasks. The autonomous parts are separate agents: the AI Sales Agent finds, writes and sends at 5 credits per lead, and the AI Reply Agent answers replies at 5 credits per reply generated.

Does Instantly Copilot cost extra?

The Copilot actions themselves do not. Instantly’s help centre article on Copilot says UI actions such as writing a sequence or creating a campaign “no longer consume Instantly Credits”, but lead enrichment triggered through Copilot, such as verifying emails or generating leads, still requires credits. You also need an Outreach plan to send.

Can I approve every email before it sends?

On Instantly, yes, if you use the AI Sales Agent’s manual-review setting, which asks you to approve the sequence email generated for each lead; the AI Reply Agent’s Human-In-The-Loop mode does the same for replies. On AiSDR, you approve sample messages before launch; its knowledge base says no manual approval is needed for each outgoing message.

Which is cheaper for 1,000 prospects a month?

Instantly, on subscriptions. As at 6 October 2026, with six mailboxes added, Instantly runs from $176.50 per 1,000 prospects on the Copilot route to $276.50 on the agent route with reply headroom ($126.50 for a single first-month cohort), against AiSDR’s $1,000–$1,250 on monthly prices or $800 on Scale’s annual price. The gap only holds if the hours you spend running Instantly cost less than the difference. At $50 an hour, that is roughly 16 to 21 hours a month.

Can either make phone calls?

Instantly has an AI Voice Agent that handles inbound or outbound calls on a connected number; we found no price for it on Instantly’s pricing page, pricing.md, plans overview or credit-system article as at 6 October 2026. AiSDR adds Aircall call steps that your rep dials, with an AI-written script; AiSDR’s knowledge base says Aircall Essentials costs $40 per user per month with a 3-seat minimum.

The decision, in one line

Buy Instantly Copilot when you have a person who will run outbound and the hours-budget test comes out under their real hours; buy AiSDR when you do not, and accept that you approve samples rather than sends. If the conversation that closes your deals happens on the phone or across SMS and WhatsApp, look at an agent built for that.
