Zian AI vs Synthflow: which fits your outbound?

The short answer

Pick Synthflow if you want to design and own the call flow yourself in a visual builder, on a platform that is shipped and running today. Pick Zian AI if you want outbound run for you as a managed, multi-channel program rather than a tool you operate. One caveat first: Zian is in waitlist beta, with no self-serve signup and no published pricing.

Disclosure before anything else

This is our own comparison, published on our own site, and we are one of the two vendors in it. Treat it accordingly. Two things follow, and we would rather say them here than in a footnote.

First, Zian AI is in waitlist beta. No free trial, no credit-card checkout, no published price list. If you need to buy something this afternoon and have an agent dialling by Friday, Zian cannot serve you, and Synthflow is the more realistic starting point of the two.

Second, everything we say about Synthflow comes from Synthflow’s own website and product documentation, opened on 28 August 2026, with a link on every claim. We ignored the affiliate roundups that dominate search results for this comparison, because they routinely describe packaging that Synthflow’s own documentation says has changed.

What Synthflow actually is

Synthflow is a voice AI platform for automating phone conversations. Its getting started documentation frames the product around the BELL loop: Build, Evaluate, Launch, Learn. You build an agent, simulate calls against it, deploy it, then feed monitoring data into the next version.

The build step is the part people buy it for, and it is genuinely good. In the agent creation docs you pick a voice or chat agent, then choose a Prompt Builder for lightweight setups or a Flow Designer for structured, branching conversations. You pick one mode per agent and cannot mix them, and prebuilt templates are filtered by industry and call type. None of it requires an engineer, and that is the point.

The integration surface is broad and documented rather than promised. Synthflow’s integrations overview lists HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, Zendesk, Freshworks, Cal.com, Stripe, Zapier, Make, Bubble and ElevenLabs. Its separate SIP integration overview publishes setup guides for Twilio, Telnyx, RingCentral, Vonage, 8×8, Zoom Phone, Zoom Contact Centre and Five9 as natively tested integrations, and for Dialpad, 3CX, Aircall, Genesys Cloud, Talkdesk and Asterisk-based PBXs as community-validated ones. There is also a public marketplace. Two caveats from Synthflow’s own page: SIP and PBX integration requires an Enterprise plan, and the community-validated tier is not regression-tested. If your requirement is that it has to sit on top of the phone system you already run, that catalogue is still the strongest single argument in this article for either vendor.

Language coverage is documented too: the supported languages page lists more than thirty languages and notes that English can be set to an American, British or Australian accent.

How Synthflow is packaged, as of today

This is where most third-party comparisons are out of date. Synthflow’s billing documentation states: “Synthflow uses sales-led pricing.” Its public pricing page shows a single enterprise option with a Contact Sales button, and says “Final pricing is scoped around call volume, concurrency, telephony setup, integrations, security needs, and launch support.” The Enterprise doc calls the commercial model a sales-led annual agreement.

The older self-serve tiers are documented as closed to new buyers. The concurrency page says of the earlier Pro, Growth and Agency plans: “These plans are no longer available for new subscriptions and remain supported for existing customers.”

Usage measurement is well specified, which is more useful to a buyer than a headline rate. Per the usage and billing doc, calls are measured per second from the moment the human and the agent connect, seconds are aggregated across calls rather than each call being rounded up, unanswered calls and voicemail hang-ups are recorded as a flat five seconds, and failed or user-cancelled calls are not billed. If a transfer completes, billable AI usage stops at the transfer. We are not publishing figures for either vendor: Synthflow’s are scoped per deal and would go stale, and ours do not exist yet.

Synthflow’s published limits that matter for outbound

Every platform has limits. The difference with Synthflow is that it writes most of them down, which we respect. These are the ones an outbound buyer should read before signing anything, all from Synthflow’s own docs.

  • Bulk outbound is an enterprise feature. The Campaigns doc covers list dialling with calling windows and pacing, and states: “Campaigns are available on our Enterprise plans.”
  • Throughput is contractual, not a slider. Per the concurrency and CAPS doc, concurrent active calls and CAPS, the cap on call attempts per second against the outbound call API, are scoped with Synthflow. Exceed them and calls can return a 429 or be queued.
  • WhatsApp calling is inbound only. The WhatsApp Business Calling doc lists as a known limitation: “WhatsApp Business Calling only works with inbound Synthflow agents, not outbound.”
  • Text channels are region-gated. The chat agents doc states: “WhatsApp and SMS channels are currently available for US-region workspaces only.”
  • SMS follow-up needs Twilio. Per the post-call SMS doc: “Post-call SMS actions are only available when using Synthflow’s Twilio integration or your own Twilio account.”
  • Data region is a one-way door. The data region doc lists three clusters, Global, US and EU, and warns: “Cluster selection is permanent.” No APAC cluster is listed, though Synthflow’s telephony overview says it can place regional points of presence closer to your traffic to cut latency, which is a separate question from where data is stored.
  • Calls are capped at 40 minutes, per the deployment options doc.
  • Agency rebilling through Stripe is being retired. The limits and defaults doc says in-product reselling through Stripe will be removed on 15 September 2026, with a migration guide for partners.

Email is not among the documented deployment channels: the deployment options doc lists telephony, WhatsApp Business calling, websocket embeds, chat, the API, workflows, Zapier and GoHighLevel.

What Zian AI is, and what it is not

Zian is an autonomous AI sales agent platform rather than an agent builder. The unit we sell is a working outbound program, not a canvas. Agents make and take live calls and also run SMS, email and WhatsApp, in 30 or more languages, with voice cloning, knowledge-base lookups, CRM and API integrations across HubSpot, Salesforce, HighLevel and Zapier, and private model deployment on customer infrastructure where that is required.

Two systems do the work a flow builder would otherwise ask you to do by hand. SmartReach AI orchestrates which message goes out, on which channel and at what time, by country, industry and profile, and paces the follow-up. PrecisionPitch AI continuously split-tests scripts and approaches against real success outcomes rather than surface metrics.

The operating history behind that is first-party and we will state it plainly. We have been running outbound acquisition since 2017. At one point we were operating campaigns for roughly a hundred businesses in the same vertical simultaneously. The learning engine tracks around 420,000 data points across more than 10,000 leads a day. We have taken accounts from roughly 2% conversion to around 8%, and in some cases beaten a client’s existing system by five times.

What Zian is not, today, is buyable. Waitlist beta means an application and a conversation, not a checkout. If that is a dealbreaker, it is a dealbreaker.

The decision table

Your situation Which fits Why
You need a generally available product now and can self-manage it Synthflow It is a shipped, in-market product with templates, a visual builder and documented onboarding. Zian is beta, with no self-serve signup. Budget for a scoping conversation with Synthflow either way.
You want to design, own and version the call flow in-house Synthflow Flow Designer, subflows, a test centre and versioning are the core of the product. You keep the logic.
You want a vendor to run the outbound program, not hand you a builder Zian AI SmartReach AI and PrecisionPitch AI make the channel, timing and script calls continuously. There is no flow for you to maintain.
Outbound has to be voice plus SMS plus email plus WhatsApp in one sequence Zian AI Zian runs all four natively. Synthflow documents voice, chat, WhatsApp calling and SMS, with WhatsApp and SMS limited to US-region workspaces, and no email channel.
You are an agency reselling voice agents under your own brand Synthflow Subaccounts, per-subaccount permissions and limits are built in. Check the September 2026 Stripe reselling change first.
You need Australian data residency or deployment on your own infrastructure Zian AI Zian supports private model deployment on customer infrastructure. Synthflow documents Global, US and EU clusters only, and the choice is permanent.
You need to plug AI into an existing Genesys Cloud, RingCentral, Talkdesk or 8×8 estate Synthflow Its SIP integration overview publishes a setup guide for each, on an Enterprise plan. This is the stronger published integration catalogue of the two.
You need a signed enterprise agreement, procurement pack and named certifications today Synthflow Its enterprise doc names SOC2, GDPR and ISO 27001. Zian’s beta engagements are scoped case by case.

What we did not compare, and why

We have not compared voice quality, response latency or transcription accuracy, because we have not run a controlled head-to-head and we are not going to invent one. Anyone publishing a latency or accuracy comparison between voice AI vendors without a methodology, including sample size, network conditions, telephony path and measurement point, is guessing. Treat those numbers as marketing until the method is on the page.

The same scepticism applies to headline figures. Both companies publish their own performance numbers on their own websites, and neither set is independently audited, ours included. Ask for the method behind any figure that matters to your decision.

How we sourced this

Every Synthflow claim above comes from Synthflow’s own website or product documentation at synthflow.ai and docs.synthflow.ai, opened on 28 August 2026, and each is linked where it is used. We did not use review sites, affiliate roundups or listicles, several of which still describe self-serve plans that Synthflow’s concurrency documentation says are closed to new subscriptions.

Everything stated about Zian AI is first-party, from our own site and operating history. Feature sets and packaging change without notice on both sides. Re-read the vendor’s live pricing, limits and region pages on the day you decide, and put anything commercially material into the contract rather than relying on a blog post, including this one. Frequently asked questions

Can I sign up for Synthflow and start calling today?

Synthflow’s own documentation says the commercial route for a new deployment is sales-led. Its billing page states “Synthflow uses sales-led pricing”, the public pricing page shows a single enterprise option with a Contact Sales action, and the older Pro, Growth and Agency plans are documented as closed to new subscriptions. Existing customers keep their terms. Expect a scoping conversation rather than a checkout.

Can I buy Zian AI right now?

No. Zian is in waitlist beta. There is no self-serve signup, no free trial and no published pricing. You apply, we talk, and we scope. If you need to swipe a card today, Zian is not your answer and we would rather tell you that here than waste your time on a call.

Which one is better for outbound campaigns specifically?

Synthflow supports list-based outbound through its Campaigns API, with calling windows and pacing, and its documentation states that “Campaigns are available on our Enterprise plans”. Zian treats outbound as its primary job and adds SMS, email and WhatsApp follow-up in the same sequence as the call, which is usually what decides whether a dial becomes a meeting. If your outbound is voice only and you want to control the dialling logic, Synthflow fits. If you want the follow-up orchestrated for you, see our note on multi-channel outreach orchestration.

Does either vendor keep me compliant with Australian calling rules?

Neither does, and no vendor can. The obligation sits with the business making the calls. The Australian Communications and Media Authority is explicit that the register is a screening tool, not a shield: as the ACMA’s Do Not Call Register page puts it, “The Do Not Call Register does not block calls; it allows businesses to check their calling lists to remove numbers on the register before making calls.” Whichever platform you choose, list washing, consent records and calling-hour controls remain your responsibility.

How do the pricing models differ?

Synthflow’s model is a sales-led annual agreement scoped around volume, concurrency, telephony, integrations, security and launch support, with call usage measured per second and aggregated into billed minutes. Zian has no published pricing model because it is in beta; beta engagements are scoped individually. We are not quoting figures for either, since Synthflow’s are deal-specific and ours do not exist.

What happens to my data with each platform?

Synthflow documents three clusters, Global, US and EU, and states that “Cluster selection is permanent”, so the choice is made at workspace creation and cannot be reversed. No Australian cluster is listed. Zian supports private model deployment on customer infrastructure where residency or control requires it. If this matters, read our note on AI data sovereignty in Australia and put the answer in your contract, not your notes.

Deciding

If we have done this honestly, the conclusion is not “pick Zian”. If you want to build and operate a voice agent yourself, on a shipped platform with a real integration catalogue and limits published in black and white, Synthflow is a sound choice. If you want outbound run as a managed, multi-channel program, that is what we do, and the trade-off is joining a beta rather than buying off the shelf.

If that trade is one you are willing to make, Apply For Partnership and we will scope it with you properly.
