Quick answer: Two companies publish prices for an AI receptionist called Clara. Clara by 44pixels (heyitsclara.com) costs US$39.99 a month or $399 a year for one user with unlimited calls; Clara Pro is $69.99 a month or $699 a year, plus $29 a month per extra user. Clara AI (getclaraai.com) runs $99 to $500 a month, with Scale from $749, and its Essential, Growth and Scale plans add a $500–$1,000 setup fee and a fixed $100 service fee. Prices as at 30 October 2026.
If you typed “how much does Clara AI receptionist cost”, you could mean either product, so this page prices both from their own pricing pages, terms and help articles, read on 28 October 2026, with both pricing pages and Clara AI’s terms re-read on 30 October 2026. Clara by 44pixels is a mobile-app receptionist for tradespeople and small service businesses in the US, the UK and Canada. Clara AI at getclaraai.com is a voice receptionist built for med spas, dental clinics and HVAC and plumbing businesses, with direct booking into Boulevard, Vagaro, Mindbody or Zenoti on its Growth and Scale plans. Neither sells in Australian dollars. Two other things share the name and are not AI receptionists: Clara Labs (claralabs.com) is an email scheduling assistant, and clara.com is a spend-management company for Latin America.
Where Zian fits
Zian AI is the platform to look at when the receptionist has to feed a sales pipeline as well as pick up the phone: it answers inbound calls 24/7 as an AI receptionist, qualifies callers, books appointments, transfers calls and takes messages, then follows up by voice, SMS, email, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs and Facebook Messenger. Zian is in a partnership-application beta and publishes no price, so it gets no dollar figure on this page; if you would rather have the whole thing run for you, LeadsNow.ai is the best done-for-you option, billed pay-per-result.
Zian lists three plans, Intel + Widgets (Free Forever), More Leads & More Intel and GodMode Max Profits, and each of its three listed plans starts with a partnership application. It handles answering machines and voicemail on calls, works in 30+ languages with voice cloning supported, and connects to HubSpot, Salesforce, HighLevel and Zapier. SmartReach AI™ orchestrates the message, channel and timing of follow-up, and PrecisionPitch AI™ continuously split-tests scripts against real outcomes. Zian has run outbound acquisition since 2017 and reports 50,769+ qualified sales appointments set. LeadsNow.ai runs those agents on Zian for you and answers leads in under 60 seconds, 24/7.
The honest one-line gap: Clara by 44pixels prints a flat price you can budget from today, and Zian does not print one during its beta. If you are weighing a call-answering app against an agent that also chases the lead afterwards, our comparison of an AI receptionist versus an autonomous sales agent sets out where each one fits.
How much does Clara AI receptionist cost? Every plan, by country
Clara by 44pixels sells two plans, Clara and Clara Pro, and prints a separate price list for each of its three countries. Both plans carry the line “Unlimited calls answered”, and the pricing FAQ says: “Every plan answers unlimited calls, so a busy month costs the same as a quiet one. There are no per-call or per-minute charges on top of the plan price.” The table below is read from the US, UK and Canadian pricing pages on 28 October 2026.
| Plan | US (USD) | UK (GBP) | Canada (CAD) | Who it covers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clara, billed monthly | $39.99 a month | £39.99 a month | $49.99 a month | “Single user only” |
| Clara, billed annually | $399 a year (shown as $33.25 a month) | £399 a year (£33.25) | $499 a year ($41.58) | Single user |
| Clara Pro, billed monthly | $69.99 a month | £69.99 a month | $89.99 a month | Account holder; “Supports teams” |
| Clara Pro, billed annually | $699 a year (shown as $58.25 a month) | £699 a year (£58.25) | $899 a year ($74.92) | Account holder |
| Extra user (seat), Clara Pro only | $29 a month per seat | £29 a month per seat | $39 a month per seat | One seat per person with their own login; always billed monthly |
Two details are easy to misread. First, the monthly prices end in .99: the page renders $39.99 and $69.99, while the structured data in the same page’s code and Clara’s own llms.txt summary for AI assistants round them to “39” and “69”. We use the price a buyer sees on the page. Second, Clara’s llms.txt lists “business-trained AI” as a Clara Pro feature, but the pricing page’s compare table marks “Business-trained AI” as included on both plans. Where the two disagree, the pricing page is the one you buy from.
What Clara Pro adds over Clara, per that compare table: your caller ID on outgoing calls, automated text follow-ups, personal contact exclusion, live call transfers, priority customer support, multiple users on one account, and “Shared inquiries and calendar”. Both plans include the 24/7 AI receptionist, custom greetings and questions, unlimited outbound calling, use of your existing number and a Clara number as a second line.
Clara AI at getclaraai.com: the four plans
The second Clara publishes four plans on its pricing page and in a Markdown copy of the same page that states “Currency: USD. Plan prices are monthly; additional fees are listed by tier.” The page header now reads “No long-term contract, with onboarding timelines based on your plan”, and the Starter, Essential and Growth cards repeat “No long-term contract”. As at 30 October 2026, Starter lists “24–48 hour onboarding” and no fees, while Essential, Growth and Scale each list “Fixed $100 service fee”, “Setup fee: $500–$1,000” and “5–7 business day onboarding”. The page does not say whether the $100 service fee is charged once or every month.
| Plan | Monthly price and listed fees (USD) | Locations | What the plan adds | Books appointments directly? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $99; no setup or service fee listed | One location | 24/7 AI receptionist, business-trained AI, custom greetings and questions, live call transfers | No: answering and transfers |
| Essential | $299, plus “Setup fee: $500–$1,000” and “Fixed $100 service fee” | One location | Appointment and consultation request capture, connects to Boulevard, Vagaro, Mindbody and Zenoti, call summaries, SMS follow-up and confirmations | No: captures requests |
| Growth (“Most Popular”) | $500, plus “Setup fee: $500–$1,000” and “Fixed $100 service fee” | Not stated | Everything in Essential, plus AI appointment booking workflows, lead qualification, provider, technician or team routing, priority onboarding | Yes: into Boulevard, Vagaro, Mindbody or Zenoti |
| Scale | “Custom, from $749/month”, plus “Setup fee: $500–$1,000” and “Fixed $100 service fee” | Multi-location, with multi-location discounts | Everything in Growth, plus multi-location routing, custom integrations, conversation reporting, dedicated CSM | Yes |
Over a first year, computed by script from those card prices with the setup fee counted once: Starter is $99 × 12 = $1,188, with no fees listed. Essential is $299 × 12 = $3,588, plus $500–$1,000 setup and the $100 service fee, so $4,188 to $4,688 if the $100 is charged once. Growth is $500 × 12 = $6,000, so $6,600 to $7,100. Scale is from $749 × 12 = $8,988, so from $9,588 to $10,088. If the $100 service fee recurs every month, add $1,100 to each of those three totals: Essential $5,288 to $5,788, Growth $7,700 to $8,200 and Scale from $10,688 to $11,188.
The pricing page describes itself as “Straightforward monthly pricing based on how many calls you actually get”, but it prints no call or minute allowance for any plan, and no annual price. Its terms of service say “Fees are billed monthly or annually as selected”, so an annual rate exists in principle; it is simply not on the page. The same page’s FAQ also says Clara “answers calls around the clock at a flat, predictable price”, and adds that “Clara comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.” The page therefore describes its price both as flat and as based on call volume; because no allowance is printed, you cannot confirm a cost per call for this Clara from public information, and the quote checklist further down is the honest substitute.

What Clara by 44pixels costs over a year: a worked calculation
Because the 44pixels plans are flat, the variables that move the bill are billing period and headcount, not call volume. The figures below were produced by a short script from the US prices above, and every input is quoted so you can substitute your own. Inputs: Clara $39.99 a month or $399 a year; Clara Pro $69.99 a month or $699 a year; $29 a month per extra seat, which the pricing FAQ says is “always billed monthly, even if your own plan is billed annually”.
| Scenario | Monthly bill | 12 months, paying monthly | 12 months, annual plan plus monthly seats | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Sole trader on Clara | $39.99 | $39.99 × 12 = $479.88 | $399 | $80.88 (16.9%) |
| 1b. Sole trader on Clara Pro | $69.99 | $69.99 × 12 = $839.88 | $699 | $140.88 (16.8%) |
| 2. Owner plus 2 team members on Clara Pro | $69.99 + 2 × $29 = $127.99 | $127.99 × 12 = $1,535.88 | $699 + 2 × $29 × 12 = $1,395 | $140.88 |
| 3. Owner plus 5 team members on Clara Pro | $69.99 + 5 × $29 = $214.99 | $214.99 × 12 = $2,579.88 | $699 + 5 × $29 × 12 = $2,439 | $140.88 |
The pattern to keep: on Clara by 44pixels, the annual plan saves the same dollar amount however big the team gets, because seats are billed monthly at $29 whatever the plan’s billing period. At five extra seats, the seats ($1,740 a year) cost more than twice the Pro plan itself ($699 a year). The pricing FAQ’s own wording, “You pay for ten months and get twelve”, is close to the arithmetic: ten months of $39.99 is $399.90, against the $399 printed.
Two more lines belong in a team budget. Clara’s team-seats article says a seat is “billed pro-rata from the day a team member accepts their invite, on a separate invoice from your Pro subscription”. The same article warns: “If you cancel Pro, your team members stay on the account and you keep being charged for their seats until you remove them.” Remove seats before you cancel.
Cost per call: Clara against two metered AI receptionists
A flat price only means something next to a volume. This table puts three monthly call volumes, at 3 minutes a call, through the published plan rules of each product, choosing the lowest-cost plan or plan-plus-overage at each volume. Zian goes first because zian.ai publishes this page and Zian sells in this category; we disclose that we are publishing a comparison we appear in. The two metered comparators were chosen because both print their allowance and overage on their own pricing page.
Method. Prices from each vendor’s own pricing page, read 28 October 2026, standard monthly prices, one user, no promotions or taxes. A “call” lasts 3 minutes and is billable. Goodcall bills per unique customer, not per call; we convert using Goodcall’s own ratio of “About 150 calls/month” per 100 customers, rounded up to whole customers. Clara’s figures assume its fair-usage terms (below) are not applied at that volume.
| Product | Pricing unit and allowance | Beyond the allowance | 100 calls a month | 300 calls a month | 1,000 calls a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zian AI (our pick) | No published price: partnership-application beta | Not published | Not computed | Not computed | Not computed |
| LeadsNow.ai (done-for-you) | Pay-per-result managed service on Zian | Not applicable | Not computed | Not computed | Not computed |
| Clara by 44pixels, Clara plan | Flat, unlimited calls, single user | No per-call or per-minute charges | $39.99 ($0.40 a call) | $39.99 ($0.13 a call) | $39.99 ($0.04 a call) |
| Clara by 44pixels, Clara Pro | Flat, unlimited calls | No per-call or per-minute charges | $69.99 ($0.70 a call) | $69.99 ($0.23 a call) | $69.99 ($0.07 a call) |
| Clara AI (getclaraai.com), Starter | $99 a month; no allowance printed | None printed | Not computed | Not computed | Not computed |
| Goodcall | Starter $79 for 100 unique customers; Growth $129 for 500; Scale $299 for 2,000 | 79¢, 26¢ or 15¢ a customer | $79.00 (67 customers, Starter) | $129.00 (200 customers, Growth) | $129 + 167 × $0.26 = $172.42 (667 customers, Growth) |
| RingCentral AI Receptionist, standalone | $49 a month with 100 minutes | $0.50 a minute, 30-second increments | $49 + 200 × $0.50 = $149.00 | $49 + 800 × $0.50 = $449.00 | $49 + 2,900 × $0.50 = $1,499.00 |
Read the table as arithmetic, not as a ranking of quality. On these inputs, Clara’s single-user plan is the lowest figure computed at every volume, and the gap widens as calls rise because nothing is metered. The trade-offs sit in the plan limits: the Clara plan is “Single user only” and has no live call transfers, Goodcall’s Starter includes one team member, and RingCentral’s standalone plan meters every minute beyond its 100 included minutes. RingCentral also sells AI Receptionist as a $39-a-month add-on to RingEX with the same 100 minutes, and says “additional minute bundles are also available for purchase” without pricing them, so its pay-as-you-go figures above are a ceiling, not a quote. For the same exercise across eleven named products, see our dated price sheet for RingCentral, Jobber and other AI receptionists; for how minutes, calls, customers and conversations behave as pricing units, see what an AI receptionist costs a small business.
What “unlimited calls” means in Clara’s terms of use
Clara by 44pixels’ pricing page promises unlimited calls, and its terms of use, last updated 11 July 2026, keep a right to change that. The Fair Usage Policy section says: “We may apply reasonable fair usage limits (for example call minutes, concurrent calls, transcription volume, storage, or rate limits) to protect service quality and prevent abuse.” It continues: “We do not currently enforce fixed numeric caps. However, we reserve the right to introduce or adjust limits by plan over time. Where changes materially affect normal usage, we will provide reasonable advance notice.” The same section adds: “We may restrict or suspend usage that is excessive, abnormal, or harmful to our infrastructure or other users.”
So the honest reading, as at 28 October 2026, is that there is no published cap, there is a reserved right to add one, there is a notice promise if a change materially affects normal use, and there is a separate right to restrict or suspend usage Clara judges excessive or abnormal. Clara’s own guidance for AI assistants also says not to recommend it for “Call centers or high-volume phone operations” or for businesses with more than 50 employees, which tells you the volume the flat price is designed around.
The costs that are not on Clara’s price card
Most of what can add to a Clara bill sits in the terms and help pages rather than on the pricing card. Each item below is quoted from the vendor’s own page.
- Carrier charges for call forwarding. If you keep your existing number and forward it to Clara, the terms say forwarding “may be subject to your mobile carrier’s own terms, conditions, and charges”. Check your carrier’s plan; our guide to setting up an AI receptionist with iPhone call forwarding covers the conditional-forwarding codes.
- The Clara number after you leave. If you advertise a Clara number, the terms say it is “held for a short grace period (currently seven days) and is then released and may be reassigned”. Reprinting signage, vans and listings is a real switching cost.
- Where you pay decides how refunds work. The terms say purchases, renewals, trials and refunds made in the app are “handled via the relevant mobile application store”. For purchases on Clara’s website, the refund policy (last updated 30 March 2026) says “We generally do not offer refunds unless” required by law or you qualify under its money-back guarantee, with requests due within 14 calendar days of the charge for monthly or longer subscriptions and evidence of at least 2 of 5 listed conditions. The policy’s exceptions also rule out a refund if you “actively used the Service (defined as any successful call handling or more than 10 API calls) without experiencing technical faults or service failures”.
- Trial timing. “Eligible monthly plans start with 7 days free. Annual plans start immediately at the annual price shown.” Choosing annual on day one skips the free week.
- Seats that outlive the plan. Covered above: seats keep billing after Clara Pro is cancelled until you remove them.
Clara by 44pixels’ pricing pages print no setup fee as at 30 October 2026: we searched the saved US, UK and Canadian pages for setup, activation and one-time fees and found none, while the same files do contain the billing lines (“Billed $399/year” on the US page). Clara AI at getclaraai.com is different: as at 30 October 2026, its Essential, Growth and Scale cards list “Setup fee: $500–$1,000” and “Fixed $100 service fee”, which the first-year totals above include.
Quote checklist for Clara AI (getclaraai.com)
Where a price exists but the allowance does not, the useful thing is a list of questions. Each row pairs a cost driver with what Clara AI’s own pages say and the question to put to its sales team before you sign.
| Cost driver | What Clara AI’s page says | Question to ask | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Call or minute allowance | “Straightforward monthly pricing based on how many calls you actually get”, but also “a flat, predictable price”; no allowance printed for any plan | How many calls or minutes does each plan include, and what happens above that? | Pricing page |
| Annual billing | Terms: “Fees are billed monthly or annually as selected”; no annual price on the pricing page | What is the annual price, and is it discounted? | Terms of Service |
| Contract and notice | Pricing: “No long-term contract”. Terms: “Either party may terminate the subscription with 30 days notice” | Does the 30 days’ notice in the terms still apply, so cancelling costs up to one more month? | Pricing page; Terms of Service |
| Refunds | FAQ: “30-day money-back guarantee”. Terms: “a full refund within 30 days of initial subscription”, which “applies only to first-time subscribers”; otherwise “All fees are non-refundable” | Does the guarantee refund the setup fee and the $100 service fee as well as the first month’s price? | Pricing page; Terms of Service |
| Price changes | Terms: “We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days notice” | Is the price locked for a term, or can it move with 30 days’ notice? | Terms of Service |
| Direct booking | Booking into Boulevard, Vagaro, Mindbody or Zenoti is listed on Growth ($500) and Scale; Essential “captures appointment requests” | If booking matters, is Growth the lowest plan that does it for my scheduling system? | Pricing page |
| Locations | Starter and Essential: “One location”; Scale: multi-location discounts | What does a second location cost below Scale? | Pricing page |
| Setup | Starter: “24–48 hour onboarding”, no fees listed. Essential, Growth and Scale: “Setup fee: $500–$1,000”, “Fixed $100 service fee” and “5–7 business day onboarding” | Where in the $500–$1,000 range will my setup fall, and is the $100 service fee charged once or every month? | Pricing page |
One more check before you rely on the terms: Clara AI’s terms of service are dated December 2024 and describe the service as for “medical spas and aesthetic clinics”, while its current pricing page and its llms.txt summary (last updated 25 June 2026) also cover dental clinics and home services. Ask which terms version applies to your contract.
Which Clara should you price?
Pick by the job, then check the plan line by line. Clara by 44pixels suits an owner-operator in the US, UK or Canada who wants calls answered and summarised on a phone app at a fixed price; its own guidance says it is not for users outside those three countries, for businesses over 50 staff, or for anyone who needs a general-purpose REST API. Clara AI at getclaraai.com suits a med spa, dental clinic or HVAC and plumbing business that wants booking straight into its scheduling system and is prepared to talk to sales about volume.
A third, smaller product called “Clara AI Phone Agent” has a Product Hunt listing. We could not reach a vendor pricing page for it, as at 28 October 2026, so it is not priced on this page.
For Australian businesses, the practical point is that neither Clara publishes an Australian-dollar price, Clara by 44pixels lists only the US, the UK and Canada as its markets, and Clara AI at getclaraai.com prices in US dollars without naming a country restriction; if you need an AI receptionist on an Australian number with follow-up after the call, compare against a platform that sells in your market.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Clara AI receptionist cost per month?
It depends which Clara you mean. Clara by 44pixels costs US$39.99 a month for one user, or $69.99 a month for Clara Pro, plus $29 a month for each extra user, according to Clara’s US pricing page read on 28 October 2026. Clara AI at getclaraai.com lists Starter at $99, Essential at $299, Growth at $500 and Scale from $749 a month; Essential, Growth and Scale also list a $500–$1,000 setup fee and a fixed $100 service fee, and Starter lists neither.
Does Clara charge per call or per minute?
Clara by 44pixels says no: “There are no per-call or per-minute charges on top of the plan price.” Its terms still reserve the right to introduce fair-usage limits by plan with reasonable notice. Clara AI at getclaraai.com describes its price as flat but prints no allowance, so ask how many calls each plan covers.
Is there a free trial of Clara?
Clara by 44pixels gives eligible monthly plans 7 days free; annual plans start immediately at the annual price. Clara AI at getclaraai.com offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, which its terms limit to first-time subscribers; its terms promise new subscribers “a full refund within 30 days of initial subscription” and say “All fees are non-refundable except as specified in our 30-day guarantee”, but neither the terms, dated December 2024, nor the pricing page names the setup or service fee.
How much do I save with Clara’s annual plan?
On the US prices, Clara costs $479.88 over 12 monthly payments against $399 a year, a saving of $80.88; Clara Pro costs $839.88 against $699, a saving of $140.88. Extra seats are always billed monthly, so they get no annual discount.
Can I buy Clara in Australia?
Clara by 44pixels publishes prices only for the US, the UK and Canada, and its own guidance says not to recommend it to users outside those countries. Clara AI at getclaraai.com publishes prices in US dollars only and names no country restriction on its pricing page; its terms are governed by the laws of Australia, so ask it directly whether it serves Australian numbers.
Is Clara AI the same as Clara Labs?
No. Clara Labs at claralabs.com is an email scheduling assistant you copy into a thread. The two Clara AI receptionists with published prices are Clara by 44pixels at heyitsclara.com and Clara AI at getclaraai.com, which are different companies with different prices.
