Quick answer: Rosie, the US AI answering service at heyrosie.com, costs US$49 a month for 250 minutes (Professional), $149 for 1,000 (Scale) or $299 for 2,000 (Growth), with Custom from $999; annual billing is $490, $1,490 or $2,990 a year. There is no per-minute overage: exceed your minutes and Rosie moves you up a plan. Every call is rounded up to the next full minute. Prices as at 30 October 2026.
If you typed “how much does Rosie AI cost”, this page is about Rosie at heyrosie.com, an AI phone receptionist that its own summary for AI assistants describes as “a 24/7 AI answering service for US small and medium businesses”. It answers calls, books into Google Calendar, Calendly, Acuity and Appointlet, transfers calls, texts callers a link during the call and connects to other tools through Zapier. Every figure below comes from Rosie’s own pricing page, the code that renders that page’s annual toggle and FAQ, its Terms of Service (last updated 5 February 2026) and its help centre, all read on 30 October 2026, in the US dollars Rosie’s terms say all fees are quoted in. For Rosie next to a dozen other vendors, see our named-vendor price sheet for RingCentral, Jobber and other AI receptionists; this page goes the other way, into what one Rosie bill is made of.
Where Zian fits
Zian AI is our pick when the receptionist has to feed a sales pipeline as well as pick up the phone: it answers inbound calls 24/7 as an AI receptionist that qualifies callers, books appointments, transfers calls and takes messages, then follows up by voice, SMS, email, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs and Facebook Messenger. If you would rather have it run for you, LeadsNow.ai is the done-for-you option, a managed service on Zian billed pay-per-result.
Zian is in a partnership-application beta and publishes no price, so no Zian figure appears in the arithmetic below. Its three listed plans are Intel + Widgets (Free Forever), More Leads & More Intel and GodMode Max Profits, and each of its three listed plans, including Intel + Widgets (Free Forever), starts with a partnership application. The platform handles answering machines and voicemail on calls, works in 30+ languages with voice cloning supported, and connects to HubSpot, Salesforce, HighLevel and Zapier. SmartReach AI™ orchestrates the message, channel and timing of follow-up, and PrecisionPitch AI™ continuously split-tests scripts against real outcomes. Zian has run outbound acquisition since 2017 and reports 50,769+ qualified sales appointments set. LeadsNow.ai answers leads in under 60 seconds, 24/7.
The honest one-line gap: Rosie prints a price you can budget from today, and Zian does not print one during its beta.
How much does Rosie AI receptionist cost? Every plan, monthly and annual
Rosie’s pricing page shows three plan cards with a Pay Monthly / Pay Annually toggle marked “2 months free”. The monthly prices are in the page’s HTML. The annual prices only appear when the toggle is switched, so we read them from the page component that renders it, which prints each one as a monthly equivalent plus the yearly charge. The Custom plan is not shown as a card; the page’s structured data lists a “Custom Plan” at “Custom Pricing”, and Rosie’s llms.txt file puts it at “$999+/mo”.
| Plan | Pay monthly (USD) | Pay annually (USD) | Annual saving, as printed | Minutes included a month | What the plan adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Professional | $49 a month | $490 a year (shown as $41 a month) | “Save $98” | 250 | 24/7 answering, custom message taking (2 scenarios), appointment links by text, automatic spam detection, website chat widget |
| Scale (“Most Popular”) | $149 a month | $1,490 a year (shown as $124 a month) | “Save $298” | 1,000 | Everything in Professional, plus message taking (5 scenarios), direct calendar booking, warm transfers, live call transfers, texts to callers during the call |
| Growth | $299 a month | $2,990 a year (shown as $249 a month) | “Save $598” | 2,000 | Everything in Scale, plus unlimited message scenarios, waterfall transfers, custom agent training from your documents, white-glove onboarding, priority support |
| Custom | “$999+/mo” (llms.txt); “Custom Pricing” (pricing page data) | Not printed | Not printed | Set in a separate written agreement | For complex or multi-location businesses; contact sales |
The arithmetic checks out: twelve months of Professional at $49 is $588, so $490 saves $98; Scale is $1,788 against $1,490, a $298 saving; Growth is $3,588 against $2,990, a $598 saving. Each is exactly two months’ fees. Divided by twelve, the annual prices are $40.83, $124.17 and $249.17 a month, which the page rounds to $41, $124 and $249.
Every plan includes, per the “All plans include” list: native iOS and Android apps, 24/7 availability, multiple simultaneous calls, training from your Google Business Profile and website, custom FAQs, 10+ agent voices, a custom agent name and greeting, English and Spanish on every call, your choice of area code, call summaries, transcripts and recordings, email and text notifications, and Zapier.
The quotable figure: on Rosie’s published plans an included minute costs between about 15 and 20 US cents, from $49 ÷ 250 = $0.196 on Professional to $149 ÷ 1,000 = $0.149 on Scale and $299 ÷ 2,000 = $0.1495 on Growth, if you use every minute you pay for.
One more line in the terms explains an older price you may see quoted elsewhere. Rosie’s Terms of Service keep an “Unlimited Minutes Subscription” for subscribers who joined under a version of the terms dated before 5 February 2026; those legacy subscribers can stay on it until they pick one of the current plans, after which it is no longer available to them. It is not on sale to new customers.
What Rosie bills you for: every billable event, defined
A Rosie bill is a minute bill, so what matters is what counts as a minute. Rosie’s terms call the unit a “Services Minute”. Here is every billing definition we found across the terms, the pricing page and the help centre, in Rosie’s words where it gives them.
| Event | Billed? | What Rosie says, and where |
|---|---|---|
| A call Rosie answers | Yes, in minutes | Terms 3(c): minutes are counted “starting from the time the Caller’s call connects with the AI Receptionist and ends when the call disconnects.” |
| A part-minute | Rounded up to a full minute | Terms 3(c): “Services Minutes are calculated and billed in 60-second increments and calls are rounded up to the next 60-second mark.” A 61-second call uses 2 minutes. |
| Minutes beyond your plan | No per-minute rate; you move up a plan | Pricing FAQ: “we’ll automatically move you up to the next plan”, “at that plan’s standard price, never more.” Terms 3(c): you stay on the higher plan “on a go-forward basis” until you downgrade. |
| A call from a 1-800 number you have blocked, or a number on your Blocked Numbers List | No minutes used | Spam help article (14 August 2026): the caller hears a blocked message “and no Rosie account minutes will be used”. |
| A spam or sales call caught by Smart Spam Detection | Not stated | The same article says Rosie “will politely end the conversation and hang up” and tags the call SPAM. It does not say those minutes are waived, so we assume the time before hang-up counts. |
| Time after Rosie transfers a call to your team | Not stated | The call-transfers help article does not mention minutes. Ask whether the meter stops at handoff. |
| Website Chat widget | Free | Pricing page: “Free with all plans”; help centre: “included on every plan at no extra cost.” |
| Website Texting add-on | $50 a month | Pricing page: “25 conversations included per month”, “$1 per additional conversation”. Terms 3(a)(v), on the SMS Features add-on: each additional conversation “will incur an overage Fee”. |
| Facebook Messenger and Instagram DM replies | Free | Help centre: “included on every Rosie plan at no extra cost”. |
| CRM integrations | Free | Help centre: “CRM integrations are included on every Rosie plan.” One CRM per account. |
| Sales and use tax | Yes, on top | Terms 4(a): you pay “any and all applicable sales and use taxes” based on your registered address. |
| Setup or activation | None printed | The pricing page prints no setup fee. Terms 4(a) say your first payment covers the first month “plus fees for any additional options, initial setup, or activation, as applicable.” |
| Late payment | $10 plus interest | Terms 4(c): if payment is not received within 30 days of the due date, “a late fee of $10” and interest at “1.5% of the outstanding balance per month (18% per year)”, or the legal maximum if lower. |
The rounding rule is the one to test against your own call log, because it can push you over a plan line without any extra talk time. One hundred calls of 2 minutes 30 seconds each are 250 minutes of conversation, exactly Professional’s allowance, but Rosie bills each as 3 minutes, so the month counts as 300 minutes and you are moved up to Scale at $149. The same hundred calls at exactly 2 minutes each are billed as 200 minutes and stay on Professional at $49. For how other vendors treat calls nobody answers, short calls and spam, see our guide to what an AI receptionist costs a small business, which compares minutes, calls and customers as pricing units.

What a month of Rosie costs at 75, 300 and 600 calls
This worked calculation pushes three monthly call volumes through each Rosie plan as a starting point and applies Rosie’s automatic-upgrade rule. A short script did the arithmetic, and every input is printed so you can swap in your own numbers.
Inputs, all from Rosie’s pages read on 30 October 2026: Professional $49 for 250 minutes, Scale $149 for 1,000, Growth $299 for 2,000; minutes rounded up per call; over the limit, you move to the plan that covers your usage at its standard monthly price. Assumptions: every call lasts 3 billed minutes (for example 2 minutes 20 seconds of talk, rounded up); every call is billable; no blocked or spam calls, no add-ons, monthly billing, no tax. If a Professional customer’s usage is beyond even Scale’s 1,000 minutes, we assume the move is to Growth, because the terms say the upgrade is “to a higher Subscription Plan to cover the additional Services Minutes usage”.
| Plan you started on | 75 calls (225 minutes) | 300 calls (900 minutes) | 600 calls (1,800 minutes) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional, $49 / 250 minutes | $49.00 (within allowance) | $149.00 (moved up to Scale) | $299.00 (moved up to Growth) |
| Scale, $149 / 1,000 minutes | $149.00 (within allowance) | $149.00 (within allowance) | $299.00 (moved up to Growth) |
| Growth, $299 / 2,000 minutes | $299.00 (within allowance) | $299.00 (within allowance) | $299.00 (within allowance) |
| Lowest bill, and per call | $49.00 (Professional), $0.65 a call | $149.00 (Scale), $0.50 a call | $299.00 (Growth), $0.50 a call |
| Same plan on annual billing, per month | $40.83 | $124.17 | $249.17 |
Two things stand out. First, starting on too large a plan is the only way to pay more than the lowest bill in a single month, because the upgrade rule always lands you on a published price, never above it: Rosie’s own wording is “at that plan’s standard price, never more”. Growth at 75 calls is $299 for a job Professional does for $49. Second, the per-call cost falls from $0.65 to $0.50 as volume rises, then the table runs out: above 2,000 minutes, about 666 three-minute calls, Rosie’s FAQ says Growth customers who “regularly exceed 2,000 minutes” should get in touch for a custom-volume plan, which llms.txt prices from $999 a month.
The annual row needs a caveat. Rosie’s terms describe subscriptions that renew “every 30 days” and say nothing about how an automatic upgrade is charged on an annual plan, so we have not computed an annual bill for any month in which you go over.
What happens if you go over your Rosie minutes?
A single month’s bill is not the whole cost of going over, because the upgraded plan does not switch itself back. Rosie’s pricing FAQ, in full: you get “multiple heads-up emails as you approach your plan’s minute limit”; if you exceed it, you are moved up to the next plan at its standard price, with “No per-minute overage surprises, no service interruptions, no missed calls”; and “Your plan stays at the upgraded tier until you adjust it back. You can downgrade anytime from the admin.” A separate FAQ answer says downgrades “take effect at the start of your next billing cycle”.
The Terms of Service add a limb the FAQ does not mention. Section 4(a) says: “Subscription changes that result in new or additional Fees are effective immediately and apply to the then-current monthly billing period and at least the subsequent two consecutive billing periods”. The terms do not say in so many words whether an automatic upgrade is such a change. If it is, one busy month would commit you to the higher plan for at least three billing periods. That is our reading of the clause, not something Rosie states, so treat the right-hand column below as the upper bound for these three periods, not as what Rosie will charge. Here is what that difference is worth, over three billing periods:
| Scenario (three billing periods) | No busy month | Busy month, then you downgrade at once (FAQ reading) | Busy month, if the terms clause applies (our reading, upper bound), or you never downgrade |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional customer, 300 minutes in month 1, 200 minutes in months 2 and 3 | $49 × 3 = $147 | $149 + $49 + $49 = $247 | $149 × 3 = $447 |
| Scale customer, 1,200 minutes in month 1, 800 minutes in months 2 and 3 | $149 × 3 = $447 | $299 + $149 + $149 = $597 | $299 × 3 = $897 |
So, on our reading, the extra cost of a Professional customer’s single busy month is between $100 and $300 over three billing periods, depending on which rule applies and whether you act on the warning emails. The same clause goes on: “any resulting additional Fees for the then-current billing period are due at the time of upgrade”, and section 4(a) also says you are “billed for each calendar day of your Subscription”. Neither line says whether the upgrade month is charged at the full higher price or as a prorated difference, so the first-month figures above are an upper bound. Ask Rosie in writing how the 4(a) clause applies to an automatic upgrade before you rely on downgrading straight back.
One older help article points the other way. “How do I cancel my account?”, dated 27 January 2025, before the current terms, says you “will be charged for any minute overages for the month” and suggests turning off forwarding “to avoid overage charges”. That article predates the current terms, but the overage wording has not gone away: Rosie’s call-forwarding set-up article, dated 23 September 2026, still says Rosie will “notify you by email before you get close to any overage charges”. If you are cancelling at the end of a busy month, confirm which rule applies.
Rosie vs Smith.ai and Clara: the same calls, three price lists
How this comparison was built. Inclusion rule: a product is priced only if its own pricing page, read on 30 October 2026, prints a price and an allowance. We picked Smith.ai and Clara because we have broken both down in depth, in our Smith.ai AI receptionist cost breakdown and our Clara AI receptionist cost breakdown, and we re-read each vendor’s pricing page today. Every call lasts 3 minutes and is billable; lowest-cost plan or plan-plus-extra-calls at each volume; monthly billing, no tax or promotions; US dollars. Disclosure: zian.ai publishes this page and places Zian AI first in a comparison it appears in. Zian AI is our pick and LeadsNow.ai, which runs on Zian, is the done-for-you pick; neither publishes a per-call price, so neither has a computed bill. No vendor paid to be included.
| Option | How it bills | 75 calls a month | 300 calls a month | 600 calls a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zian AI (our pick) | No published price: partnership-application beta; each of its three listed plans, including Intel + Widgets (Free Forever), starts with a partnership application | Not computed | Not computed | Not computed |
| LeadsNow.ai (done-for-you pick) | Pay-per-result managed service on Zian | Not computed: billed per result | Not computed | Not computed |
| Rosie | Minutes, rounded up per call; automatic move to the next plan instead of overage | $49.00 (Professional) | $149.00 (Scale) | $299.00 (Growth) |
| Smith.ai AI Receptionist | Per answered call: Free $0 for 25 calls ($3.00 each after), Pro $150 / 75, $270 / 150, $500 / 300, Enterprise $500 / 300 or $800 / 500, custom at 1,000+ | $150.00 (Free plus 50 × $3.00, or Pro at 75) | $500.00 (300-call tier) | $800 + 100 × $2.10 = $1,010.00 (Enterprise, 500) |
| Clara by 44pixels, Clara plan | Flat, “Unlimited calls answered”, single user | $39.99 | $39.99 | $39.99 |
| Clara by 44pixels, Clara Pro | Flat, unlimited calls, team seats $29 each | $69.99 | $69.99 | $69.99 |
| Clara AI (getclaraai.com), Starter | $99 a month; no call or minute allowance printed | Not computed | Not computed | Not computed |
Read the table as arithmetic, not a ranking of quality. The three products count different things: Rosie counts minutes, Smith.ai counts answered calls, and Clara by 44pixels does not meter calls at all. The trade-offs sit in the plan limits. Rosie’s Professional plan sends booking links by text rather than booking into your calendar, which starts on Scale; Smith.ai’s per-call price buys a route to its live agents and, on Enterprise, a team that builds the set-up for you; and Clara’s single-user plan is “Single user only”. Of the computed rows, call length moves only Rosie’s: at 6 billed minutes a call, 300 calls is 1,800 minutes and Rosie’s bill becomes $299, while Smith.ai and Clara stay where they are.
Clara AI at getclaraai.com now prints more than a monthly price. As at 30 October 2026, its Essential, Growth and Scale cards each list a “Fixed $100 service fee” and a “Setup fee: $500–$1,000”, with “5–7 business day onboarding”; Starter at $99 lists neither fee and “24–48 hour onboarding”. Those three plans are $299, $500 and “from $749” a month. Its page still prints no call allowance for any plan: it calls the price “flat, predictable” but also says pricing is “based on how many calls you actually get”, so we have not computed a bill for it. Its FAQ adds that “Clara comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee”.
Rosie’s trial, cancellation, refund and price-change terms
The fine print matters as much as the price card, because Rosie’s terms are short on refunds. Each item below is quoted from Rosie’s own pages.
- Free trial. The pricing FAQ: “Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial of all features. You can switch plans and cancel anytime before the trial ends without being charged.” The terms narrow it: free trials “may vary in duration and may not be available to everyone”, and are “only available to new Subscribers who have never previously subscribed”. Rosie’s llms.txt says a credit card “is required only when you’re ready to take live calls from real customers, and is not charged until the trial ends.” The terms are stricter: “To receive subscription or free trial Services, you must maintain a valid payment method associated with your Account”, and the trial converts to a paid subscription at its end “unless you cancel prior to the end of the free trial period”. The help centre says your first charge is “at the end of your trial period”.
- Cancellation. The pricing FAQ: “There are no contracts and no cancellation fees. You can cancel from your admin at any time, and you’ll keep access through the end of your current billing period.” The terms say cancellation is “effective at the end of the then-current monthly billing cycle”, and under section 14(c) you then have 30 days to download your data, after which Rosie “will permanently delete all of Your Data”.
- Refunds. Terms 4(b): “Except for downgrades and cancellations by you in the manner permitted herein, payments are nonrefundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods.” Section 14(b) adds: “All payments are non-refundable.” We found no money-back guarantee on the pricing page, in its FAQ or in the terms, as at 30 October 2026.
- Billing cycle. The terms say a subscription lasts 30 days and “automatically renews every 30 days”; the help article “When will I be billed?” says your billing date “will be the same day of the month as your first charge”. The two are not the same thing, because 30 days is shorter than most calendar months.
- Price changes. The terms reserve the right to adjust pricing “in any manner and at any time” but promise “at least 30 days’ notice prior to any Fees change or change to your Subscription Plan.”
- Who can buy. A help article dated 14 August 2026 says: “Right now Rosie only supports US businesses and does not issue international phone numbers.” You may still sign up from elsewhere to test it.
For an Australian business that last point decides the question before price does: Rosie does not issue an Australian number, so the plan table above applies to US numbers only.
Which Rosie plan should you pick?
Pick by billed minutes, not by calls. Pull a month of call logs, round every call up to the next full minute, and add them. Under 250, Professional at $49 covers you, provided text-a-link booking is enough; if you need Rosie to book straight into Google Calendar, Calendly, Acuity or Appointlet, or to transfer calls, Scale at $149 is the lowest plan that does it. Waterfall transfers that try several numbers in turn, and custom training from your own documents, start on Growth at $299. If your total sits within about 10% of a plan line, budget for the next plan up, because the rounding rule and a single busy week can tip you over, and the terms may keep you there for three billing periods.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Rosie AI cost per month?
Rosie costs US$49 a month for 250 minutes on Professional, $149 for 1,000 minutes on Scale and $299 for 2,000 minutes on Growth, according to Rosie’s pricing page read on 30 October 2026. A Custom plan for larger or multi-location businesses starts at $999 a month, per Rosie’s llms.txt.
Does Rosie charge for going over my minutes?
Not per minute. Rosie emails you as you approach the limit, then moves you up to the next plan at that plan’s standard price, and you stay there until you downgrade. Rosie’s Terms of Service say changes that add fees apply to the current billing period and at least the next two, so ask how that applies to an automatic upgrade.
How does Rosie count minutes?
From the moment the caller connects with Rosie until the call disconnects, billed in 60-second increments and rounded up. A 61-second call uses 2 minutes, and 100 calls of 2 minutes 30 seconds are billed as 300 minutes, not 250.
How much do I save with Rosie’s annual plan?
Two months’ fees. Professional is $490 a year instead of $588, Scale $1,490 instead of $1,788, and Growth $2,990 instead of $3,588, savings of $98, $298 and $598.
Is there a free trial of Rosie?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial of all features, and you can cancel before it ends without being charged. Rosie’s terms limit free trials to new subscribers and say they may not be available to everyone. After that, payments are non-refundable.
Can I use Rosie in Australia?
Not on an Australian number. Rosie’s help centre says it “only supports US businesses and does not issue international phone numbers”, though you can sign up from outside the US to test it.
